Editing video feedback and learner response

My video:

Mr Halsey's comments:
  • Such a nice touch continuing the cinematography narrative!
  • Good examples of match-on-action - perhaps just a little quick with the cut in a couple of places.
  • Shot-reverse-shot is very good - the timing of the conversation is very nicely done and I couldn't tell which take the audio was from despite specifically looking for it. This is a great sign!
  • Perhaps the framing of the OTS shots could have been angled in a little?

Class comments:
WWW: Good idea for a continuation of previous video. Variety of camera shots used. Shot reverse shot was perfectly timed. 180 degree rule was correct.
EBI: The match on action for the door opening was slightly out of time.

Reflection:
I think that I have successfully used all the aspects of the brief as well as including a narrative to my video.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
The shot reverse shot was timed well and the 180 degree rule was followed. The match on action from the close up of the reaction and back was edited smoothly. The match on action for the shot of opening the door wasn't as smooth.

Learner Response:
I found the shot reverse shot the most challenging as I had to direct my actors to do exactly the same movements as the previous shot. However, by directing them in this way I was able to make these shots seamless.
